Now, time for some personal opinions. I talked a little bit about my opinions on SV in Letter from The Editor, but I want to go into more detail. I love Pokémon Scarlet. Its one of my top favorite Pokémon games, alongside Legends, X/Y and Sword. Despite that, they really, really should have delayed the game. Though, on the other hand, if they did delay the game, people would be furious. It would have been for the greater good, but people would definitely be mad. Another reason they delayed it is sales. Every Main-Line Pokemon game is released in early-mid November. This is for multiple reasons. 1: November is right before Christmas, a prime time for video game sales. Well, if they want people to buy it for their friends and family for Christmas, why November instead of December? Well, that’s reason 2. Lots of people pre-order the game, especially Poketubers (Pokémon Youtubers). When the games are released in November, Poketubers have time to make gameplay videos, reviews, etc. which convince people to buy the game. However, this can work against them. When Pokémon SV was released, the game was a mess. Glitches left and right, low frame rates, and a lot of complaints. Most people who pre-ordered it wanted a refund! A family friend of mine refunded the game after he pre-ordered it, and yet could still play the game for some reason??? No clue what happened there. As time went on, patches were released, but the damage had been done. A lot of the games were refunded, and people just didn’t buy it because of all the complaints.

- Conclusion -
In total, I think Pokémon SV are great games. Sure, they’ve got some bugs, but the story is great, there’s some amazing new Pokémon, colourful characters and a lot of new features. These games were (and still are) super fun to play, and I expect to be putting a lot more hours into the game. Of course, I understand this game isn’t for everyone, with less of a focus on battling and more focus on exploration and the Pokédex, as well as lore.
